Katt and I met in 2003 on-line of all places. I was living in Novato, CA where I was taking care of my grandmother. She was living in Santa Rosa, CA. What was incredible is that we were on two different dating sites. One had bought out the other and the site I was part of was closed down. We started emailing, then chatting, and decided to meet up. We had our first date at Applebee's. Romantic, right? Seemed like a good, safe, high traffic place for a first meeting. Would YOU meet me in a quiet location? We share many interests including a love of scifi, fantasy, anything to do with water, and even a shared belief system. Only, she's a lot country and I'm a lot rock'n'roll. Cut from the same cloth, just different rolls. I proposed to her at the very last Renaissance fair held in Novato, CA in the fall of 2004. We were married at the beautiful location along the coast called Stillwater Cove Ranch. It was a very magical location and we were honored by the amount of friends and family that made the journey up the winding path of Highway 1. And that, as they say, is history.
We moved into our RV out of necessity in early 2015 and have been loving it ever since. We found that we really enjoy this lifestyle. Now our goal is to be able to fund our travels with either other revenue sources or remote work. We have a goal to explore the country finding serene water views and visit meaderies, distilleries and a few breweries. We want to ask a bunch of questions and video it all.
We hope you enjoy your time with us.
-Katt and Brian
Kiki & Zac
Kiki is a Katrina rescue and joined our lives back in 2006. She is a mutt from the streets of New Orleans. They had carted a bunch of animals from there to California. Almost no one would adopt her because she would sit in the back of her crate and bark at everyone. We saw a picture of her with the one ear up and one ear down, a big smile on her face and fell in love. Yes, it was love at first sight. She is a wonderful addition to our family. They say that she is Shiba inu, Basenji, Rat terrier, and maybe one other breed I can't think of at the moment. She's definitely daddies girl.
You can see her adoption video here:
Zac is our pound puppy. He spent the first 8 months of his life in the Vacaville SPCA. I am really grateful that they kept him so long. He is a wonderful dog. Labrador/German Shepard mix. We were looking for a playmate for Kiki and Zac just came right up to the cage door and got up on his hind legs and said, "Hello! You're going to take me home with you." Which is a surprising action for him. He is such a chicken when it comes to meeting new people. But not for us. Katt calls him her lesson in boundries. If he doesn't like a situation, he will remove himself and sit down basically saying "No, I'm good over here." He really is a sweetheart.
Midnight & Serenity
Midnight (Doesn't everyone name their vehicles?) is a 2006 Chevy Silverado 2500HD pickup. She'd be perfect if she were diesel but it's what we could afford at the time and we love our truck. She's had a couple additions and a subtraction from this picture, but she's basically the same.
Serenity is a 1989 Holiday Rambler Alumalite LX. She's 27.5 feet with no slides. She is our second RV, the first being a 1968 (Thing was created before I was born.) Apache Pop up trailer. Serenity is a big step up from that old thing. No, we didn't live in the Apache, it was just for weekend runs when we still had our sticks and bricks place in Suisun City.
